The Mulligan Concept of Mobilisation with Movement (MWM) is a unique manual therapy treatment approach combining mobilisation with active movement or function.
Essentially, the practitioner applies a sustained translations and added patient generated active movement to achieve pain free movement and function.
Fundamentally a patient’s pain, restriction or functional loss is eliminated when appropriate mobilisation forces are applied during movement.
First developed by Brian Mulligan ONZM, F.N.Z.S.P. (Hon), Dip. M.T., in Wellington, New Zealand, this simple yet effective manual approach has been taught internationally since 1984.A Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP) is an individual therapists who are competent in both a didactic knowledge base and clinical/practical expertise in the Mulligan Concept ® as recognised by The Mulligan Concept ® Teacher Association (MCTA).
The listed individuals have completed both course work and study in the Mulligan Concept ®. Passing this exam concludes the minimum level of training to be considered “certified” in the Mulligan Concept ®. The exam consists of multi-level testing with written and performance components designed to assess the clinical knowledge and skills developed by the practitioner throughout the course curriculum. They have successfully completed of the examination process, are recognized as Certified Mulligan Practitioners and are entitled to use the following credentials CMP.
